Gado Gado is a retail store located in the heart of Midtown Atlanta,Georgia. Opened in December 1997, Gado Gado was founded to provide assortment of unique, intriguing items directly imported from Indonesia.
We currently have over 4000 sq. ft of display floor space filled with a variety of beautiful handmade furniture and accessories.
Gado Gado, which is a popular vegetarian dish, is loosely used in everyday Indonesian to connote mixture of different things. It is also commonly used to refer to a mixed couple of different ethnic background. We, the owner, is a gado gado of Indonesian and American.
Gadogado Indonesian Furniture is a direct importer of handmade Indonesian furniture and accessories from Java, Bali, Borneo, Timor, Sumatra, Lombok and Sulawesi. Here you will find a unique collections of Indonesian antique and new furniture, mainly Java Furniture and Bali Furniture. We carry mostly solid teak wood furniture, either plantation teak furniture or reclaimed teak furniture and also old wood primitive furniture. We also incorporate bamboo, coconut, rattan, stone, burl teakwood to some of our furniture.
Our indonesian furnitures collections include daybeds, benches, TV or entertainment cabinet, dining and console tables, carved armoires, coffee tables, chairs, lazy and lounge chairs, plantation chairs, chest of drawers, bed chest, primitive benches, platform bed, daybed with futon, weaving or weaver table, old doors or gebyok in Javanese, wedding bed or sometimes called opium bed, old architectural pieces.
Traditional Indonesian furniture design is influenced by chinese furniture, western-especially dutch colonial type furniture, and indian furniture, although some designs are purely indonesian.
Our accessories include balinese wood carvings, stone or wood buddha, masks, wooden puppets, old shadow puppets, baskets from Borneo/Kalimantan and Lombok, Dayak rattan matts, textile hangers, ikat from Sumba, batik from Java and silver jewelry from Bali.
All items are chosen through personal travels in search of exciting and handmade objects showcasing the skill of Indonesian artisans.
